Genesys Advisory Committee guides the direction and growth of the Genesys platform.

On December 13, 2019, the Advisory Committee held a teleconference to review the state of Genesys and address critical questions about its governance, funding, and strategic direction. This meeting marked a turning point as we began to look beyond short-term projects toward long-term sustainability.

We wrapped up 2023 with a productive meeting on December 12th. It was a great time to look back at what we've achieved and start sketching out the roadmap for 2024. We had a good group with us, and while we missed a few of our colleagues, the energy was high!

Before we settled into our current rhythm of meetings, the Genesys Oversight and Advisory Committees worked together to lay the groundwork for our governance and strategic vision. Here's a look back at those early, pivotal sessions that helped shape where we are today.

We met on February 8, 2022, to review the roadmap for the year ahead and discuss how we can better support our community of data providers and users. It was a great session with plenty of forward-looking ideas!

Overview of the governance framework, vision, and strategic guidance for Genesys

We gathered on June 23, 2022, for our Advisory Committee meeting! It was a productive session where we focused on increasing user engagement and expanding our outreach to the global community.

On March 6, 2020, the Advisory Committee met to welcome new members and lay the groundwork for the year's activities. It was a session focused on refinement, of our vision, our mission, and our technical approach to data.

We gathered on March 13th to kick off the year with a look at our workplan and the exciting progress we've already made in the first quarter. It was wonderful to have such a full house of experts to help us steer the platform in the right direction.

We had a wonderful meeting on March 5th, where we caught up on all the great things that happened in 2024 and looked ahead to what's in store for 2025. It's always inspiring to see how the community is growing and how we can continue to make PGRFA data more accessible for everyone.

On May 8, 2020, the Advisory Committee met to finalize the strategic foundations of Genesys and dive deep into the results of our first major User Survey. It was a pivotal session that shifted our focus toward the real-world needs of our users.

We gathered on May 10th to look back at a productive 2023 and set our sights on the goals for 2024. It was a wonderful opportunity to review our achievements and discuss how we can continue to evolve the Genesys platform to better serve the global community.

We gathered on May 18, 2026, for the first Genesys Advisory Committee meeting of the year! It was a wonderful opportunity to welcome new faces, reflect on our recent successes, and set our sights on the exciting goals for the year ahead.

Notes from the meetings of the Genesys Advisory Committee

On November 9, 2021, the Advisory Committee gathered to align on the strategic direction of Genesys and review the progress made throughout the year. It was a foundational meeting that helped clarify our role within the broader PGR data ecosystem.

It was great to get together on November 8th to review our progress and map out the year ahead. We had a wonderful group joining us, and while we missed a few colleagues, the conversation was lively and focused on making Genesys even more useful for everyone.

We gathered on October 24-25, 2022, in the beautiful city of Bonn, Germany! This was a special meeting focused on "Strengthening relationships and developing new partnerships," and it served as the foundation for how we've grown over the last few years.

We came together on 13 October 2025 for our Advisory Committee meeting! It was a great moment to reflect on everything we've achieved throughout the year and to start sketching out our vision for 2026.
