Embedded Genesys

If you manage a genebank, you probably want your collection to be visible and useful to researchers around the world. Embedded Genesys makes that easier by letting you bring your Genesys data straight into your own institutional website. No need to run a separate database or maintain extra web infrastructure. Everything your users need lives right there on your site.

Getting started​

The easiest way to get set up is to use our online installation wizard. It walks you through generating the embed code tailored to your collection, so you can copy and paste it straight into your site.

Updating Embedded Genesys​

When a new version comes out, here is how to update smoothly:

  1. Save your current configuration - Jot down your institute code and any custom settings from your existing embed code.
  2. Generate fresh code - Head back to the online installation wizard and enter your settings to create updated embed code.
  3. Compare - Take a moment to review the new code against what you have now. Make sure nothing important is missing.
  4. Test first - Put the new code on a staging or test page on your site to verify everything works and looks right.
  5. Deploy - When you are happy with the results, push the update to your live site.
