Running a global platform like Genesys requires more than just a great idea and a dedicated team. It needs a reliable and predictable way to keep the lights on, the servers running, and the code evolving. Because we serve a global community and host data that is vital for food security, stability is our top priority.

The Crop Trust Endowment Fund

The heart of our sustainability is the Crop Trust Endowment Fund. Rather than relying on a cycle of constant fundraising for basic operations, Genesys is supported by this endowment.

This funding model allows us to focus on the long term. It covers the core development, ongoing maintenance, and day to day operations of the platform. Because these essential activities are funded through the endowment, we can ensure that Genesys remains available and reliable for users and data providers around the world, regardless of short term funding shifts.

Project Funding

While our core operations are secure, we occasionally find opportunities to build something entirely new or expand a specific feature beyond our regular roadmap. In these rare cases, we may use targeted project funding.

Project funding is used for specific, time bound initiatives that add new value to the community. It is important to note that this is a secondary source of support and does not replace the stability provided by the endowment. Most of what you see and use in Genesys is the result of our core, sustainably funded efforts.
