Embedded Genesys
Are you a genebank data manager who wants to publish your accession-level data online for users and researchers?
Rather than managing your own database, paying for hosting, and setting up a separate website, you can embed your data directly into your existing institutional site with Embedded Genesys.
What is Embedded Genesys?
Embedded Genesys is a JavaScript library that connects your website to the Genesys servers and displays your genebank data to visitors. It gives you everything you need to share your collection online:
- Browse and search passport data - Let users explore your collection directly on your site
- Display accession details - Show comprehensive information for each accession
- Maps - Visualize where your accessions were collected
- Subsets - Curated lists of accessions grouped by shared criteria
- Trait data - Share phenotypic and other characterization data
- Request material - Let researchers request germplasm directly from your website

Several CGIAR genebanks are already using Embedded Genesys on their institutional websites. Take a look at how it works at AfricaRice, CIP, IRRI and IITA.
